Hublot Gold King Power Tourbillon GMT

A very innovative watch, the Hublot King Power Tourbillon GMT  announces a first with its dual time zone indicator located at 1 o’clock in red and blue displaying your choice of time zones for the jet-setter.  The gold in this watch is unique as it is a result of a newly developed alloy known as “Kings Gold”. 

Made especially for this timepiece it contains 5% platinum and a mix of rose and white golds.  Designed as a large piece, the case measures in at 45mm and is comprised of King Gold, titanium, ceramic, composite resin and rubber. 

The dial is beautifully multilayered with micro blasted gold-dusted matte black counters and flange. The indices are gold plated appliqué with black SuperLuminova transfers. 

Protected by a sapphire crystal that is anti-reflective on both sides.  The bezel is micro blasted black ceramic with 6 relief black PVD H-shaped titanium screws.

Skeletanized hands are gold plated and coated with Superluminova.  At the 9’clock position is the Retrograde Date and at 5 o’clock you can see the Tourbillon cage powering the HUB6121 movement. 

To offset all of this opulence is a molded black rubber strap.  Power reserve is 90 hours and it is water-resistant to 100m or 10ATM. 

Limited edition of 28 pieces and release date is Spring of 2010 suggested retail is $175,000.

Hublot Liberty Bullet Watch

A reinterpretation of the pocket watch, Hublot has taken poetic license with this one in that it is shaped like a gun cartridge.  The Hublot Liberty Pocket Watch houses Tourbillon movement Caliber CHH9000 . 

It can be worn either as a bracelet or pendant if the ladies choose to share this manly piece.  With a grade 5 titanium bullet head and anodically oxidized matte black aluminum base, it boasts a “roller display” to tell the time. 

Who knows, maybe with all the discord going on in the world this piece expresses Hublot’s creative voice.  27mm in dimension and 53.75mm in length; this piece is water resistant to 30m or 3 ATM if the desire to jump in a body of water comes over you.  Power reserve of 120 hours for those of you with a lot of time to kill, had to say it.

As with any good work of literature, this piece is open to interpretation, perhaps “Liberty” is a reference to a desire to be free, a desire for the end of atrocities in the world.  Word has it, it will be on the market June 2010 for a MSR $79,000 a pair, share one with the one you love.

Hublot Big Bang Out of Africa

In conjunction with Hublot Ambassador Veronica Varekova is the introduction of the Hublot Big Bang Out of Africa Women’s Watch Model #361.CR.1110.RR.1913.AWF10.  Hublot is donating a percentage of the sales to the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF). 

Hublot wants to promote the image of an adventurous woman who has an appreciation for wildlife and respect for the environment.  Veronica blends the values of commitment with beauty, talent with dynamism, elegance with creativity and luxury with nature in line with Hublot’s values.

AWF focuses on research, education, protection of natural resources and the conservation of both the habitat and the ecosystem while protecting Africa’s communities, wildlife and endangered species and landscapes. 

The 38mm all black ceramic watch is both graceful and feminine.  It is adorned in red highlights in the rubber strap and side inserts.  An 18 carat white gold bezel with 48 baguette spinels and 6 H-Shaped titanium screws surrounds the microblasted matte black dial with black appliqué numbers and indices, red AWF logo displays at 6 o’clock.

The hands are black nickel and diamond polished with a black luminescent coating.   Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides.  Water resistant to 100m, movement is Quartz HUB 2900 – limited to 500 pieces.

FIFA 2010

April 15, 2010 – Zurich –  Hublot will serve as the Official Watchmaker for the coming World Cups held in South Africa this coming June and in Brazil in 2014 according to the  Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Hublot is no stranger to the game having sponsored the Swiss team in 2006 and with their association with the Mexican Football Federation and the Spanish national team.   CEO Jean-Claude Biver announced that Hublot will be the first luxury brand to have ties to football and considers it an honor and pleasure to be associated with FIFA and to be the “Official Watchmaker” for the next two World Cups. This is one of the largest televised events in the world and will provide an great deal of exposure for Hublot.

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter shared  his respect for the Hublot brand in their innovation, Swiss quality and accuracy.   He indicated Jean-Claude Biver’s passion and drive is infused in the brand.  This great honor means that Hublot will be seen on the referees’ boards when they show substitutions and stoppage times. 

Hublot plans an exclusive limited edition series for the 2014 FIFA in Brazil.   In addition, a special collection will also be associated with the FIFA World Cup for 2011.

Hublot King Power Tourbillon

March 18^th, 2010 – Basel World witnessed the release of the newest King Power Hublot watch.  Marking its 30^th anniversary Hublot presented the King Power Tourbillon Manufacture #705.CI.0007.RX, a limited edition of 30 pieces inspired by the  interior of their workshops. 

Part of the Big Bang Collection, dimension is the first image that comes to mind as the dial is comprised of several layers.    It’s like going down the rabbit hole with Alice as you explore the nuances of this watch face. 

Hour and minute indicators are located at the 12 o’clock position and seconds are visible through the tourbillon cage at 6 o’clock.  Its as if you are inside of a beautiful dark machine.  Split-seconds are  mechanical  and self-winding.  It has a foudroyante chronograph with a  power reserve of 42 hours. 

Done in various tones of black, the 48mm case and bezel are microblasted ceramic with molded rubber.   There are 6 relief black PVD H-shaped titanium screws surrounding  the bezel.  No need to worry about taking a quick dip for it is water resistant to 100 meters. 

The hour and minute hands are polished black nickel coated with black SuperLuminova to light up the night. An articulated black rubber strap handsomely sets off the industrial design elements in this magnificent timepiece.  Movement is Caliber Hublot HUB6002.
